Woodmont’s Emergency Preparedness Drill Proves Successful

BELMONT, CA (MAY 2009) – Woodmont Real Estate Services, the premier property management firm in Northern California, successfully conducted a company-wide Emergency Preparedness Drill across its multifamily and commercial portfolios.

Over 300 field and corporate associates participated in the mock disaster drill, which was based on the scenario of an earthquake hitting the Bay Area. A team of over 40 “First Responders” were immediately sent to each property for in-depth inspections, to identify critical needs and assess all physical property damage.

An integral part of the Emergency Preparedness Plan is the Emergency Operations Center, which acts as the dispatch and call center if/when an emergency occurs. The Emergency Operations Center will serve as the main point of contact for residents, tenants, employees, owners, and media relations.

“With this program, Woodmont is providing a superior level of service to all of its clients by giving them peace of mind and assurance that their assets are well protected if and when a major natural disaster strikes,” said Senior Vice President Scott Pritchett.

The Emergency Preparedness Plan has been under reconstruction for the past 16 months in order to develop a more integrated and comprehensive program, which would lead to a more efficient way to handle all emergency situations.

The Emergency Preparedness program works in conjunction with Woodmont’s CORE Vendor Program, which uses established strategic vendor relationships in all of property’s geographic areas for faster and more effective, 24/7 service and response.
